[His feathers perked when the door swung open and he offered a gentle smile when he saw her, but it was quickly replaced with a look of worry when he took particular notice of her eyes. When she stopped her approach, he stepped towards her instead, placing one hand on her cheek and the other on her arm. His spoke softly, but the concern in his tone was clear.]

Hey there. Sonico, are you okay?

[sonicosuper]

*She was perhaps not completely okay, but she was much better because he was here with her. When he put a hand on her cheek she closed her eyes and took a small breath to stop herself from crying again. She nodded softly in response and finally opened her eyes again - they were maybe slightly teary, but she was smiling now. Sort of*

Sorry... I'm supposed to be inviting you in for tea.

[shelteringwings]

[He shook his head and smiled at her again, looking into her eyes.]

No, don't worry. You're more important. Tea can wait.

[And unless Attleton suddenly bursts into flames, he doesn't plan on going anywhere unless she wants him to. He moved his hands to her shoulders.]

We've got all night, and I'll stay for as long as you need me.

*His smile made her feel even better still, and the look in his eyes, so her smile became more sure. Sonico nodded again with his hands on her shoulders and bit her lip*

Thank you... You must be busy but I - I really appreciate you coming to see me...

[Instead of responding to her right away, he gently brings her into a hug. It was one of the best ways he could comfort and assure others, so he has no reservations doing it for Sonico.]

I'll never be too busy to come out and check up on you. All you have to do is give me a call, no matter the hour.

*That hug is exactly what she needs, evidenced by the way she immediately wraps herself around him and hugs herself tightly to him. She is quite happy to stand there and be held by him for a moment or two, leaning back to look up into his face with a soft smile, her eyes searching in a kind of disbelief*

You... You are so good and so sweet and so kind to me...

*Then she glances around, aware that they are still standing out on the porch*

Shall we go inside..?

[Mobius was more than happy to stand there and hug her for however long she needed it. And there were certainly more hugs where that came from.]

Seems fair to treat a sweet girl with the same kindness she shows to me, right?

[He gives her a wink, and then nods slightly.]

Yeah, let's get you back in. The weather is starting to get on the chillier side, and we don't want you catching anything.

*Sonico giggles at his comment and his wink, feeling so much safer and happier now with him here. He was rather good at melting away her concerns. So she was happy to lead the way inside and straight to the kitchen where she started opening cupboards and peering in them*

Let's see... Can I make you something to drink? Tea, or a hot chocolate? Or is there anything else you'd like?

*Keeping busy was the easiest way to ignore the reason for his visit and the conversation that brought him here*

[He followed her in, staying a little closer to her than he normally would be. He wouldn't want to overdo it, Sonico's still got a personal bubble that he's going to respect, but even then he wants to make some kind of silent assurance that he's not going anywhere.]

Hm... well, I haven't had a hot chocolate in a long time. I think I'll do a cup of that, please.

[He glanced around the kitchen, his feathers perking before looking back to Sonico.]

Anything I can do? Get water boiling or something?

[He doesn't want her to do everything.]

*His closeness was noticed, and much appreciated. It was good to have him there with her. Sonico headed for the fridge and took out a large carton of milk*

Hot chocolate it is.

*She smiled at him before starting to warm the milk gently on the stove*

Hmm... You can choose the mugs. They're in a cupboard just over there.

*She wasn't about to let him start doing too much - that wouldn't be polite as a host. Besides, it helped her get her thoughts together better. When he had chosen the mugs he wanted to use - there was a reasonable selection - Sonico mixed the milk with the powder to create the hot chocolate*

There! Now - would you like some cream? Or some marshmallows?

[While he was skimming through the mug selection, he briefly glanced over his shoulder with a smile.]

What, no one's got Cass a "World's Best Boss" mug yet?

[Sure won't be Mobius that gives him one.]

Well, I gotta admit I'm still a kid at heart, so I can't refuse marshmallows. Thank you.

[He turned his body slightly to make a brief glance out of the kitchen before glancing back at Sonico.]

Anything change since I left? Is Kay's cat still a jerk?

*Sonico laughed at that - which is nice, because she hasn't much felt like laughing since her confrontation with Ted*

Not yet. But I'm surprised that Kay hasn't got him a World's Best Everything Else mug yet.

*She went into the cupboard again to locate a bag of mini marshmallows and puts them on a tray with some cookies and the mugs. It might be easier if he helps himself since she tends to overdo it with marshmallows*

Well... Things can change depending on if Kay and Cass have fallen out or not...

*Though she did say it in an affectionate way at least*

And yes. It's still a jerk. But Meiji is good at keeping her in line.

[Mobius himself was certainly one to overdo marshmallows, but since he was a guest again and he wasn't the one who paid for them, he'll let himself have a little bit more self-control. ... or at least, a little more than usual. One still couldn't see his hot chocolate under the sea of marshmallow. Oops.]

Those two, fall out? Nah. I couldn't imagine that happening. They give off too much of a "lovey dovey forever and ever" vibe for that.

[Maybe he was exaggerating. A little. Maybe.]

I mean, it's not quite the same... but they kinda remind me of how I was with one of my best friends from home. We bickered constantly, nearly decked each other more than a few times, but I'm not afraid to say he was my best friend. If Kay and Cass ever have an issue, somehow I suspect it wouldn't last very long.

Not that Caeli and I were ever an item, nor will we ever be, but they just kind of give off that vibe. Maybe I'm crazy.

[He chuckled a bit, then tried to take a sip of his hot chocolate... though that seems to be a slightly difficult task thanks to all that marshmallow.]

I bet it's only because Meiji's bigger than her. I half expect that cat to bully Kay himself.

*Yeah... Sonico has kind of made a little mountain of marshmallows on the top of her mug too. She stared at it for a moment, realising suddenly that she hasn't really eaten properly since...but she began plucking marshmallows out to eat anyway*


Oh, they are. They can be...uhm...very affectionate. But if they have a little lover's tiff then it can be quite intense in here. You're right though. It doesn't last long.

*She watched him as he told the story of him and his best friend - that was pretty sweet. Sonico ate another marshmallow then glanced at the kitchen table*

Would you like a seat? We can sit in here, or have a soft seat in the living room?
